So what have Brian Cody, Ronan O’Gara and Joe Brolly all got in common? Well, they are all part of an incredible online art auction which was launched this week to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute
The six incredible one off pieces centre around the spirit and fun of our national games and were created by two of Ireland’s top artists Niall O’Loughlin and Mike O’Donnell. The fundraiser is the brainchild of All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winner John Divilly in association with Paul Byrnes Media.
“It’s fantastic to have the GAA community supporting the work of the charity and that of the breast cancer research team with this incredible art auction of sporting stars. My sincere thanks to the auction organisers, John Divilly and Paul Byrnes and to the artists Niall O’Loughlin and Mike O’Donnell for the fabulous donation of their time and talent in creating these six stunning pieces which we hope will generate much needed funds to support research,” said Prof. Michael Kerin, Research Director of National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
“The NBCRI is an incredible charity that does so much for so many every day. We are delighted to be supporting Prof. Michael Kerin and his wonderful team and asking the public to get involved and make a bid. Any of these pieces would look amazing at home, in a hotel or in any business setting,” said John Divilly.
