The National Breast Cancer Research Institute are honoured to be part of Precision Oncology Ireland a consortium of 5 Irish Universities, 6 Irish Cancer Charities, including the National Breast Cancer Research Institute and 10 companies who aim to develop new diagnostics and therapeutics for personalised cancer treatment.
Precision Oncology Ireland is a consortium of 5 Irish Universities, 6 Irish Cancer Research Charities, and 10 international companies aiming to develop new diagnostics and therapeutics for personalised cancer treatment. The Consortium is part-funded by Science Foundation Ireland under their Strategic Partnership Programme.
This is the first programme of its kind bringing academic, charity and industry partners together, supported by Science Foundation Ireland to make Precision Oncology a reality in Ireland.
A unique consortium laying out the blueprint for how cancer research and cancer care will look in Ireland in the 21st century resulting in better diagnostics, personalized cancer treatment with faster drug discovery and development. The programme is lead by Professor Walter Kolch and will allow scientific advances to reach cancer patients in Ireland earlier, making cancer research work for cancer patients in Ireland.
