Mazars to sponsor National Breast Cancer Research Institute Valentine’s Ball

The National Breast Cancer Research Institute has announced that Mazars, the international audit, accounting and consulting firm, will sponsor the Institute’s 2023 Valentine’s Ball which will be held in the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway on Saturday, 18th February.

A must for Galway’s socialites, the black-tie event MC’ed by Ollie Turner from Galway Bay FM, marks the start of Galway’s social diary. On the night guests will be greeted on arrival by ballerinas from the Regina Rogers Galway Ballet Academy before enjoying a four-course gala dinner. Music comes from PK Brass and guests will be wowed by award-winning close-up Mentalist and Magician Jamie Skelton.

The Valentine’s Ball is one of the charity’s major annual fundraising events and monies raised help to support the breast cancer research team led by Prof. Michael Kerin, based at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway. 1 in 7 women Irish women will develop breast cancer before they reach 75 with over 3,500 cases diagnosed annually. The National Breast Cancer Research Institute funded research focuses on the development and improvement of diagnostic techniques and treatment strategies, to drive real and measurable improvement in clinical outcomes for breast cancer patients.

Part of an internationally integrated partnership, Mazars in Ireland is one of the country leaders in audit, accounting, tax, financial advisory and consulting services. Employing over 600 professionals, the firm has offices in Dublin, Galway and Limerick.

Speaking at the announcement Research Director at the charity, Prof Michael Kerin said, “We are delighted to have the support of Mazars for what is one of our most important fundraising events. National Breast Cancer Research Institute supported research has greatly improved the outcome from breast cancer and continues to enhance the application of research to patient care with the current development of the cancer centre, cell and biobank related research and better breast imaging utilising Microwave technology”.
