The National Breast Cancer Research Institute is a charity partner of Precision Oncology Ireland, a consortium of five Irish Universities, six cancer charities, and ten industry partners, who aim to develop new diagnostics and therapeutics for personalised cancer treatment. The consortium is co-funded by Science Foundation Ireland under their Strategic Partnership Programme.
Professor Michael Kerin and Dr Roisin Dwyer are principal investigators in the NBCRI co-funded programmes in Precision Oncology Ireland.

Dr Roisin Dwyer hosted a public research event on behalf of Precision Oncology Ireland and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. Members of the public were invited to visit the Lambe Institute, meet the researchers and hear about the work going on.
A special screening of CÚRAM-commissioned The People There to Catch Us, featuring Dr Roisin Dwyer, took place on September 24th at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway to mark World Cancer Research Day. It was followed by a Q&A with cancer researchers including Prof Aoife Lowery, patients and filmmakers.
