Last October, mum of two, Dorothy Biesty from Ballyhauis, Co. Mayo was diagnosed with Breast Cancer but thankfully due to the incredible care she received at BreastCheck Galway and the Oncology Unit in Castlebar, Dorothy is doing well and getting her life back on track.
So grateful were Dorothy, her husband Austin and their girls Alicia and Shauna they organised a Shave or Dye fundraising event at The Clock Bar, Ballyhauis in April which received great support from family and friends. Pink was the colour of the day with lots joining in the fun, having their hair cut and beards dyed all helping to rise over €11,077.60 in support of breast cancer care and research.
The money was divided evenly between the Oncology Unit, Castlebar and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute, NUI Galway to help the development of breast cancer research.
